The BC Children’s Hospital Dream Lottery gorgeous country estate Grand Prize option is located within High Point Equestrian Estates in South West Langley, very close to the border on 1st Ave. and 200th St.
This is an equestrian development. The community consists of small acreages and deluxe homes all created for horse lovers. The development is right next door to Campbell Valley Park, and a network of horse-friendly trails wind throughout the community to the park, with it’s horse trails.
The site is situated on a hill and gives lovely views of the North Shore mountains and the surrounding countryside. As you drive up, it’s clear that this is a master planned community with plenty of space and privacy.
We arrived on a sunny Sunday during the pre-launch for a tour… I didn’t think it would be busy but as we drove up, I was obviously mistaken. The place was packed!

The home itself is spectacular… in location, size, design and furnishings. It has a .6 acre fully landscaped lot and a 3 car garage, handy since you can choose to take a new Audi A5 with the home!
The outside is built with lots of columns, stone accents and steep intersecting roofs combined with rounded archways, windows, entrances and accents. To me, it is a striking mix of elements of Gothic Revival’s multiple steep roofs mixed with Cotswold Cottage stone, and rounded windows. Majestic yet welcoming.

There is a striking entryway into the home which has a large covered area to protect you from the weather. After the shoes off ritual (and noting which pair we would swap for on the way out…) we entered the rounded archway dominated entrance hall. It’s a wonderful frame to highlight the great room high ceiling, spiral staircase and huge view windows to come.

To the right is the nicely sized (15×10) and contemporary Dining area. It has another entry into the kitchen and lots of south facing, shaded windows.
To the left is the living/sitting room, with a fire place, lovely views, furnished with 4 lovely sitting chairs. The inset ceiling is a highlight.

Through the entrance hall, I was spellbound by the amazing spiral staircase. It dominates the center of the house and is one of the more striking features I’ve seen. It’s an aggressive full 180 degree sweep, richly finished in dark wood with carpeted stairs. With the Super high post and beam ceiling of the Great Room as a backdrop, the spiral stairs is a signature area of this home.
